Bloom Sewing Lessons & Classes

Let Bloom Sewing teach you how to machine sew! Whether you're just starting out, have a specific project or garment you want to make, learn to read a pattern, or just generally want to up your existing skills, I can help! If you're in Virginia or the DC Metro area, I would love to work with you in the Bloom Sewing studio located in downtown Winchester, VA, where I can accommodate as many as six sewists at once. You can bring your own machine, or work with one of my six Brother CS6000i sewing machines. which I use because of their ease of use, reliability, and built-in safety features. If you're further away, I can meet virtually, and will give you a list of the tools you'll need.

I mostly work with woven fabrics, but as of Spring 2026, I recently added a Brother 1634D serger to the studio so I can also offer beginner lessons on sewing knit fabrics.

Please note: I am passionate about disability justice and making sure my lessons are open to everyone, including disabled and immunocompromised people (of which I am one). As such, I do require KN95/N95/KF95 masking in my studio (I provide respirator masks free of charge). If you are unable to mask for health reasons, please reach out--I am willing to teach outdoors when weather allows! If masking to protect yourself and others is a dealbreaker for you, I encourage you to seek lessons elsewhere. For more information on why this is important to me, see why mask?
